our fees

Here are our 2023/24 fees for our 7 -14yrs and pre-GCSE classes.

Here are our 2023/24 fees for GCSEs

Our minimum attendance is one full day or three half-days (this includes GCSEs). This is to ensure that each student spends enough time with us for them to feel part of our community.

Want to combine Topic-based learning and GCSES? No problem. We’ll calculate a discount on our 7-14yr fees so that you pay for the extra days at a discounted rate. eg a second day will be charged as a second day, not a first day.

If your child is doing 4 iGCSE’s, this is the equivalent of 2 days at TLC.
If the child is also doing a further 1.5 days at TLC, this would be a total of 3.5 days.
Look at the table for your Tier level and payment plan (let’s assume Tier 2 and 12 month pay plan)
You will pay the iGCSE fees as per the table (second on the website fees page), so £410p/m
You will see that, were your child doing 3.5 days at TLC, you would pay £490p/m, so use that as a basis, but take off the 2 days that are covered by the iGCSE payment.
So that £490 would be minus the fee for 2 days of TLC learning, in this example £312.
490 less 312 = 178
You will pay this difference plus the iGCSE fee, so £178 + £410 = £588p/m for 12 months (Sept 2023 to Aug 2024).

We’ve created a calculator for families who want to combine GCSEs and our topic-based learning. If you have any trouble with the link, you can copy and paste this address https://opextwo.github.io
Tier 1: Family income under 20k per annum/or receiving means-tested benefits.
Tier 2: Family income 20-50k per annum.
Tier 3: Family income over 50k per annum.

We have highly qualified, experienced teachers and we pay them a good living wage. We have small class sizes which means children get a lot of attention from their teachers.
This means that our fees may be slightly higher than other online schools but the quality of our service is too.
When booking an appointment, please enquire about discounts.

admission fees

Interview

There is a £50 fee to cover the interview and administrational costs.

Sibling Discount

Sibling discount is 15% for the first sibling and 20% for further siblings.

Deposit

We ask for a returnable deposit payable on admission. The deposit can be paid in monthly instalments over 3 months. This is held by us and returned once the child leaves the community. The deposit is 2 months of fees if you decide to pay fees over 10 months or 3 months of fees if you prefer to pay fees over 12 months (see above tables for details). Deposits are payable after acceptance through an interview thus guaranteeing a place. If the try-out does not result in the student joining our community, the deposit is returned.

Withdrawal

8-school-weeks notice is required to withdraw your child (see terms and conditions). If a child is withdrawn without notice, The Learning Circle reserves the right to keep the deposit. Please note that the 8 school weeks notice period applies at any time of year including if your child wants to leave at the end of the summer term.

Withdrawal before starting

If you have reserved a place for your child in advance and your child has completed their try-out, but then you decide to withdraw, we will need you to let us know 6 weeks in advance of the planned start date. If not we reserve the right to keep the deposit for expenses incurred.

Half-days

If a student wishes to do half-days instead of full days, we ask that they do a minimum of 1.5 days for one child or 1 day each for siblings. This is to ensure that children spend enough time in the community to share time together and form friendships.

Try-out days

Students can try-out the learning community  before deciding whether they want to join our community. There is a minimum of two weeks of try out days and a max of four.

Taking a break

If students take a holiday during term time, we continue to charge fees. For long breaks, we need 8 weeks notice. In this case, we cannot guarantee the student’s place when they return.
